Biography
Dr Negin Hesam-Shariati is a Research Fellow at UNSW Sydney and NeuRA and recipient of a Craig H. Neilsen Foundation postdoctoral fellowship. Her work centres on EEG neurofeedback and brain–computer interface (BCI) approaches to neuromodulate maladaptive brain rhythms associated with neuropathic pain following spinal cord injury.
She leads development of home-based, self-directed EEG neurofeedback systems and investigates psychosocial determinants of pain in SCI to personalise neurotechnology-based interventions. She is a Chief Investigator on MRFF and NHMRC grants focused on technology-driven pain therapies.
