Anurina Das

Senior Research Assistant

Biography

Anurina completed her MBBS in Bangladesh and a Master’s in Medical Science (Clinical Epidemiology) from the University of Newcastle after moving to Australia in 1996. Anurina is currently working on the TITAN randomised control trial, with McAuley group at the Centre for Pain Impact.

Anurina began her research career at Neura (formerly POWMRI), contributing to neurodegenerative disease studies such as DEDCeL, the Brain Donation Program, and the Sydney Older Person Study. She has also worked with musculoskeletal research teams at the University of Sydney and the George Institute, handling participant recruitment, training, and assessments. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in the Concord Health and Ageing Project (CHAMP), managing clinics and assessments for elderly participants—60% of whom were from non-English-speaking backgrounds. Her contributions extend to the Intercept study at Westmead Hospital and Spectrum Medical Imaging, where she helped develop strategies to prevent secondary fractures in osteoporosis patients.

Anurina’s experience with age-related, neurodegenerative, and musculoskeletal diseases gives her a strong interdisciplinary perspective and shows her adaptability in medical research.
